Aberconwy House

Dating back to the fourteenth century, Aberconwy House is a small medieval merchants house. Also it is to be the only surviving merchants house in Conwy to encounter the towns rough history for six centuries. The house is believed to be the oldest dwelling of it's type in Wales and was built around 1420.

The house contains furnished rooms in three different styles which are Jacobean, Victorian and Georgian. Aberconwy House has belonged to various English merchants that traded with the Welsh then became a temperance hotel. Alexander Campbell Blair saved the house from any further alteration and in 1934 gave it to the National Trust.

The lower floor consists of a small shop selling local souvenirs.

Some people believe that the house is haunted...
