Welsh Mountain Zoo
The Welsh Mountain Zoo is the national zoo of Wales and was opened in May 1963 by animal enthusiast Robert Jackson. The 37 acre zoo is placed half a mile from the town of Colwyn Bay. The zoo has beautiful gardens, wooden pathways and adventure playgrounds to explore. It holds numerous species of native and rare breed animals. The zoo is packed full of free educational games and zoo trails to keep the kids entertained. For smaller children, they have a petting zoo so they can get up close to farm animals.
There are daily shows at different times at the zoo, you can go and enjoy watching the penguin's parade, chimp encounter and sea lion feeding time. There is a list as you enter the zoo so you won't miss out on the action. In the summer months the zoo has a regular bird of prey display which is excellent.
